Rogério Skylab
Rogério Skylab is a singer/composer born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, mostly known for his crude, freaky lyrics over complex and neatly performed melodies. He started his career in the 1980s as part of a punk rock band called “Setembro Negro” (Black September), and went solo by the 1990s. His popularity began to be noticed by 1992 when he released his first solo album, “Fora da Grei”, very well-received by the critics, and considered one of the 10 best releases of its time; however, it really skyrocketed only in 1999, with the release of “Skylab”, and also making several appearances on the Brazilian late night show “Programa do Jô” (Jô’s Show). Together with Jorge Mautner, took part of the project “Benditos Malditos” (Blessed Damneds), making shows around many famous places in Rio de Janeiro. Among his biggest hits, there are: “Matador de Passarinho” (Bird Killer), “Carrocinha de Cachorro-Quente” (Hot-dog Kart) and “Motosserra” (Chainsaw). Read more on Last.fm.
